  A BRF, uma das maiores empresas de alimento do mundo, dona de marcas como Sadia, Perdigão e Qualy, é o principal alvo da 3ª fase da Operação Carne Fraca, deflagrada hoje (5) pela Polícia Federal (PF). O grupo é investigado por fraudar resultados de análises laboratoriais relacionados à contaminação pela bactérias Salmonella pullorum. As fraudes foram constatadas entre 2012 e 2015. Onze pessoas tiveram mandado de prisão decretado, entre elas ex-executivos do grupo.

  Segundo o delegado da PF, Maurício Boscardi Grillo, as planilhas e laudos técnicos eram modificados e os resultados finais adulterados eram entregues ao Serviço de Inspeção Federal (SIF), para impedir que o Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (Mapa) fiscalizasse a qualidade do processo industrial das plantas (frigrorífico ou abatedouro) da BRF. A presença e quantidade real da salmonela foram omitidas em alguns casos.

  Equipes do Ministério da Agricultura também estão trabalhando em conjunto com a PF. Em nota, o ministério explicou que dentre as mais de duas mil variedades de salmonela, existem duas de preocupação para a saúde animal e duas de saúde pública. Por isso, as empresas devem adotar medidas específicas dentro das granjas e nos produtos positivos para a bactéria, para reduzir os riscos ao consumidor.
